According to ChatGPT on June 17, 2024 (place-holder pending a better bio from a non-AI source.):

"Edwin J. Tyler, known locally as "Taterbug," is a notable figure from Milanville, Pennsylvania. He has a family lineage deeply rooted in the region, with connections to both Kenneth Avery Tyler Sr. and Eva Jane Edsall Tyler. These ancestors are commemorated in local memorials, suggesting a long-standing presence in the area.

"Edwin Tyler's local fame as "Tater Bug" likely stems from his involvement in the community and perhaps from unique personal characteristics or contributions that earned him this affectionate nickname. Unfortunately, specific details about his life and achievements are sparse in public records and online sources. His family ties, indicated through various memorials, suggest a significant historical footprint in the Milanville area." [/AI]

Taterbug died on December 17, 2004 at age 59 and is buried in Callicoon, New York. His obituary noted that: "Mr. Tyler was a member of the Appalachian Bluegrass Fiddle Association (ABFA). He was also a member of the Nobody's Band. In a family statement, it was said, 'He was a giving man, his door was always open to anyone that needed him. He had a great gift/passion for music, nature, and people. He used these gifts to entertain, educate and relate with people. He played music at many local establishments but also entertained at many nursing homes for the elderly. He also shared his knowledge of nature with many school students in the classroom. He loved nature walks, Indian artifacts and was a Shaman. He was a local hero in many eyes. He will be missed by all that knew him.'"
