    Community Center forum

CALLICOON - The board of directors of the Delaware Community Center will host a public forum at 8:00 p.m. on November 10 to hear comments and concerns of local residents who use the center, particularly young people, according to board president Tom Rue. The forum will be held at the center in Hermann Hall.
A report will be given concerning the nonprofit organization's financial needs, and volunteers will be solicited form the audience to help supervise functions such as ice skating and teen dances.
On October 13 the board voted to close the center's main hall between December 1, 1987 and April 1, 1988 except for already scheduled private events. Reasons included the departure of caretakers Sue and Bill Hennig, who are wintering in Florida, as well as burdensome utility bills and other costs.
He added that a meeting is planned soon with officials and students from Delaware Valley Central School to explore appointing a teen delegate to represent student interests on the board of directors.
The board presently includes: Roe Bedford, Jane Buddenhagen, Holly Keyser, Clarence Kratz, Tom Rue, Barry Schuchman, Michele Schuchman, Pete Sigelakis and Joyce Sykes.
