Ezra Taft Benson
Prophet, Seer, and Revelator
Office of the First Presidency
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
50 East North Temple Street
Salt Lake City, UT 84150

Dear President Benson:

Referemne is made to my letter of November 15, 1987, demanding that my name be removed from the membership rolls of your church. Receipt of my letter was acknowledged on November 30, 1987 by F. Michael Watson of your office, who promised that matters would he "handled at the local level."

However, to date, Brother Watson's word has not been kept. I have not heard one word from the Scranton Pennsylvania Stake.

I hereby command you by the authority of the Melchizidek priesthood which I bear, in the name of all that you consider holdy, to provide formal notice within 13 days of the date of this letter (the next full moon) that my name has been removed from LDS membership rolls.

Mormon patriarchal doctrine is anathema to that which is true, as surely as the sun shines. In my underwear drawer I have one remaining half of a modern two-iece temple garment, which I wear routinely as an everyday tee-shirt. I testify to you by the square and compass that the sum total of all that exists in the all planes of existence of all the universes is a lie, as equally as it is God. To say that truth is linear, as Mormons do, is to deceive ourselves. What is, is. Worlds without end.

Amen.

Respectfully,
Thomas S. Rue
