After receipt of this Notification of Hazard occurring crowded and unsafe conditions at at public meetings (see videos clips and photos), after shifting things around in the Village Board chambers, like moving chairs on the deck of the Titanic, Manager John Barbarite ordered the posted "safe" seating capacity in the room increased from from 65 to 108. In an e-mail to the Board of Trustees on October 24th, the Village Manager claimed that that, based on his math, the room could safely suddenly hold 148 people. This up from 65!

Ignoring Mr. Barbarite's blatently irresponsible assertions, which appeared to be more aimed at allowing the room to be packed and run like a three-ring circus than genuine concern for public safety and comfort, Trustees Scott Schoonmaker, Victor Marinello, and Carmen Rue wisely directed the Village Clerk on October 30th to notify the media that the next regular meeting of the board (the meeting of November 3, 2008) would be held at the Stroebele Community Center -- which it will.

These photos were taken on the afternoon of October 29, 2008.
