Masons host county-wide "bring a friend" night
- SULLIVAN COUNTY -- An opportunity for the public to learn more about the Masonic fraternity is scheduled for Tuesday, September 7th, at the Liberty Masonic Temple on Eagle Drive. Prospective members and their families are invited to a public program hosted by the Sullivan Masonic District.
- Freemasonry is the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world. Membership requires a belief in Deity and urges its members to be faithful to their own religious beliefs, but is not a religion. Masonry brings men together for fellowship and the promotion of integrity and good citizenship.
- Masons meet locally in Liberty, Monticello, Callicoon, Fallsburg, and Livingston Manor.
- Norman Moon of Port Jervis, Junior Grand Warden 1996-1998 of the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons in the State of New York, will speak about some of his experiences in Masonry. Other speakers will include Ken Fraley of Swan Lake, District Deputy Grand Master of the Sullivan Masonic District; and John Green of Fallsburg, Assistant Grand Lecturer for the Sullivan District. Informational material about Masonry will be available.
- A free dinner, open to the public, will be served at 6:30 P.M.
- The event is sponsored by the Membership Development Committee of the Sullivan District. For more information, call John Wells at (717)283-8888 or John Green at (914)436-6219.
