    Community Center lineup

    CALLICOON - A variety of events will kick off the start of the 1988 season at the Delaware Community Center (DCC), beginning with roller-skating at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18th. Brownie Troop #96 and the public are invited.
    The Callicoon Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring a St. Patrick's Day dance on Saturday, March 19. Music is by "Vern Whitmore and the Stardusters". The $4.00 donation benefits the fire company.
    On March 26th, an outdoor Easter Egg hunt will take place for pre-schoolers through 4th graders. The Easter Bunny will be in personal attendance. If weather is bad, the hunt will be in the grandstands and around the perimeter of Hermann Hall. For more information, call Carla Hauser or the Easter Bunny at 914/887-xxxx.
    The Callicoon Kiwanis will host a pancake breakfast at 8:00 a.m. on March 27th.
    Roller-skating is planned for april 9th at 7:30 p.m., this time with the Beach Lake United Methodist Church youth group. Once again, the event is open to the public.
    A teen dance is slated for April 16th at 8:00 p.m., with a DJ and refreshments. Admission will be $2. Fore more information, call Roe Bedford at 914/887-xxxx. If this dance is a success, more will follow.
    On May 21st, starting at 12:00 noon, join in on an organized community clean-up of the center grounds, supervised by caretakers Bill and Sue Hennig. Picnic style refreshments will be served.
    And finally, leading into warmer weather, Summer Youth Program registration will be in late May or early June. Watch this newspaper to keep posted.
    The Delaware Community Center is located on Creamery Road in Callicoon. To reserve the hall for private events, at $250.00 per use, contact secretary Joyce Sykes, during evening hours, at 914/887-xxxx.
    Community members are encouraged to take initiative by organizing additional teen dances, card parties, or such other activities or fund-raisers as interest them. The board of directors is available to assist.
    The next regular meeting of the DCC board is at 7:30 p.m. on March 23. The board is seeking a "teen liaison", preferably a student at Delaware Valley Central School. Call president Tom Rue at 717/729-xxxx.
