I have been asked to acknowledge your letter of June 15, 1987, in which you requested that your name be removed from the records of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I also have been asked to advise you that this is a matter which must be handled at the local level; therefore, copies of your letter and this letter are being sent to President Walter H. Chudleigh Jr., Scranton, Pennsylvania Stake.

In view of the eternal consequences of such action, the Brethren urge you to reconsider your request and to prayerfully consider the attached published statement of the First Presidency.
