Lodge Votes to Remit Dues
of Men in Service

At its last regular meeting Monticello Lodge voted to remit dues of its members who are now and will serve in the armed forces. The vote was taken after a committee consisting of Bros. Emory Stalker, Alvin O. Benton, and Foster H. Little had studied the feasibility of the proposition. The committee reported that nineteen of the Brethren are now in the armed forces.

Along with a paid-up dues card the Brethren have received a special Masonic admittance card issued by Grand Lodge and approved by the Lodge. This card will entitle our soldier Masons to admittance in any Masonic Lodge their travels throughout the battle torn world may take them. Another card will also be issued by our Lodge to sons of Masons who are now serving our country. These cards will admit them to Masonic service centers which are located throughout the allied countries of the world.

The resolution submitted by the committee and approved by the Lodge is as follows:

A RESOLUTION

Whereas Monticello Lodge No. 532 is represented in widely scattered battle areas by members in uniform;
And whereas, We who remain safe at home are enjoying the Lodge activities in spite of the World conflict;
And whereas, We realize that the con flict in which they fight is not just for the preservation of Our Country and of our Monticello Lodge, but is a fight for the very right of existence of our Great Order;
Therefore, be it resolved that Monticello Lodge No. 532 show its appreciation of the debt we owe to our Brothers in the Armed Services by presenting to each a paid-up Membership Card for the year 1944, or credit each for the amount of a year's dues if the 1944 dues are already paid.
Emory Stalker,
Alvin O. Benton,
Foster H. Little,
Committee.
