January 24, 1983 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

As chairperson of the Computer Use Committee in Lawrence Township, I find Mr. Rue to be an outstanding team member.

In April, 1982, the Superintendent of the Lawrence Township Public Schools asked Mr. Rue to play a leadership role in implementing computer hardware, software, and a computer literacy program into the school district's curriculum. Not only did Mr. Rue accept this responsibility enthusiastically, but he also acted as a valuable team member in the decision-making process. Further, he has led our committee in putting the needs of the entire district ahead of the needs of individual schools.

In addition, Mr. Rue worked during the summer of 1982 to write a Computer Literacy Curriculum for implementation at his school during the 1982-83 school year. This commitment required not only the sacrifice of time during the summer, but also the willingness to make time in his math curriculum for the implementation of the new material.

Because of Mr. Rue's willingness to innovate with computers, the committee recommended that future expansion of computer programming and computer literacy begin at Mr. Rue's school, Lawrence Junior High School.
