The original bible is in my possession, having received it from my late grandmother, Opal Brooks Rue then of Livonia, Michigan, after the death of my grandfather, Arthur H. Rue, the oldest son of Stella M. Rice Rue, the owner of the bible. All the handwriting (including the marriage certificate page) appears to be that of my great grandmother, Stella M. Rue.

There is no copyright date on the front title page. Heavily marked throughout with handwritten commentary and biblical references, this King James version was used by Stella Rue for personal study. Bound together are a "Bible Readers' Aids" including concordance, copyright 1937, John C. Winston Co., Chicago-Philadelphia-Toronto.

Everett Nelson Rue was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas, June 11, 1878, decased away Dec. 13th 1936 at 1910 Moffett Ave., Joplin, Mo. His father was Norval Rue. He was born in Baxter Springs, Kan. His mother was Phoebe Miller Rue. She was born in Iowa.

Stella Margaret Rice was born in Smithfield, Mo. July 28th 1884. Her father was Thomas J. Rice. He was born in Jefferson City, Mo. June 24th 1852. Her mother was Ida Cooper Rice. She was born in Iowa March 2nd 1860.

Stella Rue was baptized into Christ in Feb 1900 by Bro. Porter, her minister. Everett Rue was baptized into Christ in June 1901 by Joseph Gaylor, minister.
