Some graves of County Louth

"Here are some photos from County Louth, Ireland. I did find Balapousta, the location of St. Catherine's church and cemetery. It's out in the countryside, not much around it. White Mountain and some of the other locations show up on an old map I found at the Ardee library and photographed. (No copying service available.) However, these places are tough to find. I spoke to several people in the Ardee area about the area and its history, but most are not aware some of these places or the old town's history. The librarian said that all historical, birth, and death records are now kept in the Dundalk library. I was unable to get there while they were open. Another time perhaps.

"After riding through the countryside I came into the small town of Collen. There was a church there that was part of the Ardee parish. I took several photos of headstones in the parish cemetery.

"St. Mary's parish in Ardee had a small cemetery attached and I took some photos. It was interesting to find the Callan, Halfpenny, and Maguire surnames in all the places I visited. I was told by a local fellow that a Maguire family owns a restaurant a few miles south of Ardee."
