AMERICAN RED CROSS "THANKS"

To the editor:

The Sullivan County Chapter of the American Red Cross in Greater New York would like to take this opportunity to thank the many chapter disaster volunteers who assisted their friends and neighbors during the recent floods.

Without the volunteer assistance the residents of our community affected by this disaster would have had a far greater struggle.

We would also like to thank the local fire departments for assisting our damage assessment volunteers. The Rev. Fay and James Fedlam of the Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church and the Hortonville Fire Department for providing shelter during the storm. The supervisors and staff of the Towns of Callicoon and Rockland for allowing the Red Cross to utilize their Town Halls for Family Service Centers.

As well, we need to thank the many local officials, organizations and citizens who offered assistance. We are all "neighbors helping neighbors" and together we can make a difference.

Gratefully,
AMERICAN RED CROSS
Sullivan Chapter Board of Directors
