Habitat for Humanity hosts barbecue
"Red Cross Challenge" tests cyclists

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF SULLIVAN CO. HOSTS BARBECUE

MONTICELLO - Habitat for Humanity of Sullivan County will hold a chicken barbecue at Mr. Willy's Restaurant, Route 42 So., Monticello, Sunday, September 17th, 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.

The event will help raise funds for the local affiliate chapter of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit ministry dedicated to building decent, affordable houses in partnership with people in need.

RED CROSS CHALLENGE TESTS CYCLISTS

TUXEDO - Bicycling enthusiasts are invited to join the Sullivan, Orange and other chapters of the American Red Cross (ARC) in Greater New York for a day of riding at the peak of the fall foliage on Sunday, October 15th, starting at the Sterling Forest Ski Resort, Tuxedo.

The 4th Red Cross Challenge offers four different distance events for the enjoyment of riders who collect pledges to support the services of the American Red Cross. Cyclists can choose among routes of 15, 40, 75 and 100 kilometers.

Registration is $25 per person. Entrants must collect a minimum of $35 in tax-deductible pledges. Prizes, including bicycles, will be awarded to riders according to the sum of their pledged donations. Refreshments and mechanics will be available along all routes. Participants will receive a souvenir Red Cross shirt.
