New Pizza Hut in Monticello

By TOM RUE
MONTICELLO - Regardless what some may think of the politics of Pizza Hut company mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh, or his equally controversial critic, radio jock Howard Stern who's been ranking on Pizza Hut ads of late, people in Monticello are evidently glad to see a the establishment open for business at 140 Broadway on May 8th. The place has been packed.
Opening was originally slated for mid-December but construction was delayed by weather and permit requirements, said manager Dave Bloomquist.
Bloomquist, who came to town a year ago from Long Island to get the operation started, said the interior "heritage" design and ornamentation features make the local store unique. The Monticello plant is privately operated by Larry Fugate of Wichata, Kansas, who also owns the Liberty Pizza Hut and 118 others nationwide, Bloomquist said.
Local delivery is free, at 796-1616.
