New singles newsletter

Mid-Hudson Social Ad-vantage

HARRIS - Single people of all ages who live in sparsely populated areas report frustration with the limited opportunities to meet men or women of similar backgrounds and interests.

The growing social disenchantment with alcohol-related lifestyles is just one reason why many people avoid "bar scenes." And interesting religious or nonprofit social groups oriented toward unmarried people are often hard to find.

Aside from employing a commercial matchmaker or "yenta," if one could be located, options sometimes seem limited. And many singles are not looking to get married, just opportunities to meet new people of the opposite sex in a social setting.

Mid-Hudson Social Ad-Vantage announced recently that, for a limited time, it will offer free "personal" ads of up to 50 words to single people in the tri-county area. Individual copies of the newsletter may be purchased for $2.00. A six-month subscription is $8.00.

The new mail referral service is based on ads readers, aged 21 to 70, write themselves, telling others who they are looking for, as well as what they have to offer.

Advertisers are guaranted that their identities will be kept confidential. Each ad will be assigned a box number, and mail forwarded as it is received. The publishers reserve the right to edit certain ads at their discretion, which they may deem inappropriate. Free public service notices from nonprofit social or religious groups will be accepted on an on-going basis. Business card type display advertising is also available.

Ads or notices may be submitted to: Mid-Hudson Social Ad-Vantage, PO Box 421, Harris, NY 12742.
