    DCC meets at Villa Roma

CALLICOON -- The Delaware Community Center will receive a $500 contribution from the Villa Roma resort, marketing and sales director Mike Turrel told the board of directors at its July 8 meeting, "The people in this area have helped us, and we made it. Now it's time to give a little of it back."
The board met with Turrell at Villa Roma to discuss possible fund-raising events there. Turrell proposed a professional wrestling match sometime in the fall, involving the World Wrestling Federation, to benefit the center. He said that the American Red Cross had recently netted $11,000 in a similar event near here.
Board president Peri Ann Hennig noted that $218 had been raised by a recent trip to Atlantic City.
Trustee Glenn Hester announced that the "Family Festival" previously announced for August 2 had been canceled due to scheduling difficulties.
Clarence Krantz reported on his recent inspection of the Community Center facility, in preparation for a grant request which will be made to the Grover Hermann Foundation, for capital improvements.
To schedule private events at the center, call Joyce Sykes at 914/887-xxxx.
