    Community Center fund drive

    By TOM RUE

CALLICOON -- Delaware Community Center board members voted Tuesday night to seek a loan for approximately $5000 from the United National Bank. Treasurer Batty Schuchman said that with the $6000 in contributions this amount will enable the center to pay its 1986 public liability insurance premium.
Schuchman expressed the board's hope that the continuing fund drive will bring in enough to repay the $5000 loan within a month.
An alcohol-free "family festival" will be sponsored by the center on August 2, featuring games, booths, a flea market, and other family oriented activities. The goal of the event is to raise $4000 or $5000 to underwrite 1986 programs at the center.
The board also announced plans to hold a benefit auction and garage sale "sometime in the fall." To contribute attic items or new merchandise, call Judy Kozora at 914/887-xxxx.
For information on the center's activities, or to make contributions to the general fund, contact board president Peri Ann Hennig at 914/887-xxxx.
