Republican Sheriff candidate Schiff earns support of Democratic Village Trustee

Monticello NY - Adding to the growing ranks of local supporters of Michael Schiff for Sheriff of Sullivan County, Monticello Village Trustee Gordon Jenkins formally endorsed Schiff in a statement released to the media last week.

Jenkins, a Democrat, was elected in a landslide victory last March and his endorsement of Schiff - a Republican - is viewed by some observers as reflecting a growing multi-partisan coalition supporting Schiff.

As a member of the New York State Police, you always treated people fairly while enforcing the law with ethics, compassion, and professionalism. There is no question in my mind that you are the best candidate," Jenkins wrote in an October 21st letter to Schiff.
