Former CIA agent to speak at Masonic family night

MONTICELLO – Retired CIA and US Treasury agent Alfred Korn of Monticello will speak at a Veteran’s Day meeting of Monticello Lodge #532, F. & A. M. on Monday, November 11, 2002. Mr. Korn will discuss some of the memorable experiences of his career. The family evening is billed as “bring a friend night” in which members of the lodge are encouraged to invite acquaintances who are interested in learning more about the fraternity.

A long-time resident of Monticello, Mr. Korn is a member of Loyalty Lodge #33 of Union, New Jersey, F. & A. M.

The same night, Monticello Lodge senior warden Ernie Marchino will publicly unveil a silver trowel that was used on the occasion of the laying of the cornerstone of the Masonic Temple at Monticello on May 12, 1898. That temple was destroyed in the fire of 1909 which destroyed much of the village, and was replaced by the present lodge Masonic Building. The trowel was returned to Monticello in 1998 by members of Delhi Lodge #439, F. & A. M., where it was held since 1913.

The meeting will be held at 5 Bank Street, 3rd floor, starting at 8:00 p.m. A dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. For more information about the meeting or about becoming a Mason, call Thomas Rue, worshipful master of the Monticello Lodge, at (845) 791-1432.
