Updated Village of Monticello website is online

MONTICELLO - Contrary to recent news reports that the Village of Monticello does not have a website, Mayor Gary Sommers and the Village Board of Trustees announced on February 24th that, for quite some time, the Village has indeed had an “official” site on the worldwide web.

Computer users may open http://www.village.monticello.ny.us in their web browsers. The site is listed in several major search engines.

Businesses and residents of the Village are invited to e-mail suggestions for additions or improvements to the site, to vom@fcc.net. “This website belongs to the people of Monticello,” said Mayor Sommers, who stated that the intent behind the website is to draw favorable attention to Monticello on a global scale and communicate local government information to taxpayers. “We want to be user friendly,” he added.

The village’s website presently contains minutes and agendas of board meetings, information on parks and recreation, village finances, foreclosed properties, public safety, code enforcement, public works; and links to other local websites.

For more information about locating your business in the Village of Monticello, contact village hall through the Internet addresses shown above, or call (914) 794-6130.
