The Ugly Underbelly of Spring

Town of Thompson, Sullivan County, New York

May 2007

Do you recognize your trash?

Out for a short walk today, here are a few photos the crap that surfaces when the snow melts. Some may have been there longer than one season, but most is new. This page is not intended to fault hard-working municipal crews, but to draw attention to those who thoughtlessly dump on themselves and the rest of us, either to save a few dollars or a few seconds, then wait for someone to pick up after them.

Wet furniture, rubber tires, televisions, scrap metal, and household trash are pictured below on the property of the Concord Monster Golf Course, along Thompson Road between SR 17 and Joyland Road in the Town of Thompson. Is any of it yours?
