Sara Luzmila Diaz of Monticello, a homemaker and longtime area resident, died Monday, October 14, 1996, at her home. She was 43 years of age.
The daughter of the late Carlos and Eugenia Hernandez, she was born March 5, 1953, in Callao, Peru.
She is survived by her husband, Jorge E. Diaz, and a son, Alain Diaz, both at home; a daughter and son-in-law, Yesenia and Troy Carr of Liberty; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosa and Jorge Marquez of Croton-on-Hudson and Carmen and Tom Rue of Monticello; two brothers and two sisters of Lima, Peru; a granddaughter, Sarah Carr; and several nieces, nephews and cousins including Manuel and Rosa Hernandez of Monticello.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Wednesday at St. Peter's Church in Monticello.
Cremation was made at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope with interment of the ashes to be made in Peru.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange in the Hudson Valley, c/o Community General Hospital, Harris, N.Y. 12742; or to the American Cancer Society, 159 Green St., Kingston, N.Y. 12401.
Funeral arrangements were made by the VanInwegen and Kenny Funeral Home in Monticello.
