Bed and breakfast
group seeks members

The Delaware River Bed & Breakfast Association is seeking member facilities for inclusion its 1987 directory. The directory is slated for publication in February of next year.
The organization was formed to serve as a network of family-operated indoor bed and breakfast (B&B) facilities on the Delaware River. The membership fee in the organization consists of a proportional share in the cost of preparing the brochure.
A B&B can be an ordinary residential house that offers lodging and breakfast to travelers, usually for a night or two. Some B&Bs do not have signs, but attract reservations through advertising or referral services. Other facilities also belong to larger networks such as American Youth Hostels (AYH) or Bed & Breakfast-USA.
Hosts tend to be friendly people who enjoy getting to know others and who are able to put people at eease so that guests don't feel like strangers. Guests are screened to weed out what one host called "the beer-can chucking river turkey crew."
Each facility establishes its own ground-rules for guests and rates for lodging and meals.
Families with space to rent or existing B&B establishments on the Delaware River interested in joining the new organization should contact Linda Hay of the Bonnie Banks Bed & Breakfast in Mill Rift at (717)491-xxxx or Tom Rue at the Innisfree Youth Hostel near Skinners Falls at (717)729-xxxx.
